Most “RDM controllers” implement the minimum: set address, read a few parameters, done. rdm-pro was written because that is not enough when you ship professional high-power LED products.
The software is ours. We can customize the same core for your devices.
On the HP7500-4-RDM platform that already includes protected two-level RDM access, live temperature and operating-hour data, OLED info and error screens, demo mode, PWM and dimming options, noise filtering behaviour, and manufacturer-specific functions beyond the generic RDM set. For a client project we extend or strip that set: your PIDs, your access policy, your default curves and limiters, your display texts, and how the device behaves when the line is noisy or the load is wrong.
You still speak standard DMX512 and RDM v1.2, so consoles and testers keep working. The extra intelligence is what operators and service teams see when they identify, configure, and diagnose your product.
Work usually starts from the rdm-pro baseline, then we specify what must change for your SKU or family. You receive firmware matched to your hardware, plus a description of RDM features for your manual and support team.
Good fit if you: want RDM that matches your product, need diagnostics and protection logic in software, or do not want to write a DMX/RDM stack from scratch.
