Functions

RDM-PRO is a multi-level Remote Device Management system for large-scale installations of high-power COB LEDs and LED modules. It was developed primarily to solve the practical problems of RGBW and other full-color fixtures: bin-to-bin variation, mixed production lots, module replacement, and long-term color drift.

ANSI E1.20 RDM already defines far more functions than most manufacturers implement. RDM-PRO Software uses that unused headroom. It extends the number of settings and device parameters that can be read and written over the same DMX/RDM link, while remaining compatible with standard RDM controllers.

The control system and controller components support both centralized and decentralized topologies. Typical installation issues—addressing, discovery, PWM and load setup, cable and voltage constraints, service data, and field diagnostics—can be handled from the control layer instead of at each luminaire.

Main feature. Automatic color balancing compensates for physical differences between color LEDs and modules. It can be applied after installation, after a replacement, or when different bins are mixed in one project.
The system can also generate commissioning protocols: a record of the installed system for handover and final approval, plus a baseline for tracking brightness change over the life of the installation.

RDM Discovery

Standard and advanced discovery methods are used so every device on the link is found and communication stays reliable, even in large systems.

DMX Setup

All usual RDM DMX settings are available: start address, personality, identify, and the other parameters you expect from a regular RDM device.

DMX Controller

RDM-PRO includes standard DMX control functions plus test patterns to check the installation for component and wiring issues. Custom programs available.

PWM Setup

Set PWM lanes, maximum wattage per channel, PWM frequency, LED voltage, and allowances for cable length so the drive settings match the real load.

Forward Voltage Compensation

LED forward voltage is not constant across bins, batches, or temperature. RDM-PRO can compensate for those differences so channels stay matched.

Voltage Drop Compensation

In large centralized installations, cable voltage drop changes brightness and color mix along the run. RDM-PRO can compensate so fixtures at the start and end of a line stay consistent.

Color Balance

Different color bins and replacement LEDs can be aligned with the color-balance system—manually or with a Bluetooth photo sensor—so mixed stock still produces one color mix.

New LED Models

Replace modules with newer, higher-efficacy chips, or upgrade only part of an installation, and keep the original color mix instead of creating visible patches.

Device Data

Device data can be read at several levels so service engineers have more information for maintenance and troubleshooting.

Error Monitoring

Project parameters can be entered once; the monitoring system then helps detect errors and support troubleshooting.

Remote Access

Projects can be accessed remotely to check errors and adjust settings without being on site.

Commissioning Protocols

RDM-PRO can generate installation protocols for handover and final approval, and keep a baseline so brightness and color changes can be tracked over the years.
